The DOST 7 employees in their “stop the violence” advocacy in observance of the 18-Day Campaign to end VAW, held at DOST 7 Regional Office, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.

To help promote public awareness to end VAW, the Department of Science and Technology Region VII conducted series of activities in the observance of the 18-day Campaign to End VAW with the theme, “VAW-free community starts with Me”.

The VAWC activities  implemented by  the DOST 7  include the, hanging of the 2019  18-Day Campaign to End VAW official streamer, reading of prayer for VAWC victim survivors during the November 25, 2019 Flag Raising Ceremony, participated in the Orange your Icon Advocacy by hanging orange flag lets in the office perimeter fence, crafted and distributed IEC materials and participated in the online campaign threads by uploading photos and other information using the hashtag #VAWfreePH.

These initiatives of DOST 7 is in response to its thrust of protecting the women and children from abuse that impedes their chance to pursue economic, political and social development necessary for them to live a fruitful and equally satisfying life.

The official VAWC Streamer of DOST 7 along with its orange flag lets hanged in the perimeter fence of DOST 7 from November 25 to December 12, 2019.

The implementation of the DOST 7 VAWC activities are actively supported by the members of  its GAD Focal Point system headed by RD Edilberto L. Paradela, ARD Jesus F. Zamora, Jr. and ARD Bernarda G. Perez.
