The Department of Science and Technology Region VII spearheaded a series of training – workshops on Gender Audit and GAD Planning and Budgeting to 16 (females 9, males 7) members of the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) on October 17, 2022, via zoom platform.

Engr. Jesus F. Zamora Jr., Regional Director of DOST 7, said “this training seeks to provide a huge opportunity to all members of the GAD Focal Point System on how to effectively mainstream gender perspective in our organization, as well as on the phases and procedures of GAD Planning and Budgeting. These inputs will guide us for the crafting of our 2023 GAD Plan and Budget due for submission this month.”

Ms. Maria Fe B Singson, a member of the National GAD resource Pool of PCW provided an input on the steps of Gender Audit and facilitated the review of the elements, processes, steps, and procedures involved in preparing a GAD Plan and Budget.

The activity also discussed and assessed the gender mainstreaming efforts of the organization. It also identified strategies and activities that will help heighten the gender mainstreaming initiatives of DOST 7 for the year 2023.

All the members of the GFPS actively participated in the crafting of the DOST 7 2023 GAD Plan and Budget.
