A total of 21 (females 6, males 15) participants composed of the members of the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS), technical evaluators and project implementers actively participated in the training on Integrating GAD Perspective in Project Proposal and Project documents in DOST VII on June 29, 2022 at 1:00-5:00 PM via Zoom Platform.

Engr. Jesus F. Zamora, Jr. said, “gender mainstreaming is a strategy for making women’s as well as men’s concerns and experiences an integral dimension in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and programmes so that women and men benefit equally, and inequality is not perpetuated.”

RD Zamora added, “DOST 7 seeks to develop, refine tools and indicators to assess results and progress towards gender equality. This training seeks to provide a huge opportunity to all project implementers and evaluators on how one could best integrate gender perspective in the development of S and T project proposals and in project documents of DOST 7.”

Ms. Maria Fe B. Singson, Supervising Science Research Specialist of DOST GAD Regional and Support Services (GRSS), shared on the features of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), tips on how to integrate Gender Perspective in Project Proposal Preparation, and also provided the participats with sample applications of HGDG Principles in the Project Proposal.

During the workshop, the participants actively provided their assessment and recommendations on the project documents of DOST 7 specifically on Project Proposal Template, RTEC Evaluation Template and Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) template.
