The Department of Science and Technology Region VII and the Philippine Commission on Women heightened the skills of the WMEs on Chocolate Making and Product Design Development on July 28-29, 2021 through zoom platform.
“To sustain economic growth, new market trends on Chocolate Making and Product Design is now needed to boost Cacao marketability and help increase the sales of our Chocolate and Cacao producers/ entrepreneurs,” said Jesus F. Zamora, Jr, OIC Regional Director of DOST VII.
Ms. Vina Antopina, Provincial Director of the Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) provided the WMEs with inputs on processing.
RD Zamora added, “this training seeks to provide a huge opportunity to all women entrepreneurs on how you could best make your cacao enterprises highly competitive especially in this time of pandemic.”
Ms. Efrenia Holt of Atbang Farm expressed, the training is a “very informative and I’m looking forward to making proper chocolates in the future.” While Ms. Audrey Arellano of Audrey’s Bakeshop said, “more of these kinds of topic, lots of learnings as always, thank you.”
The training heightened the participant’s awareness on product marketability, quality, repeatability and reliability necessary to “best make the enterprises highly competitive especially in this time of pandemic,” RD Jesus Zamora added. The activity was conducted in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women led by Ms. Shernes Alcantara and Ms. Marylew Echavez.
