Cebu People’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CPMPC) has started operating as oneSTore hub, making it the first cooperative in Central Visayas that provides online marketing and deliver services to small and medium entrepreneurs assisted by the Department of Science and Technology 7.
CPMPC’s operation as oneSTore hub officially kicked off last November 18, 2017, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the coop’s office building at the corner of Legaspi and V. Gullas streets in Cebu City.
The ceremony was led by DOST 7 Regional Director Edilberto Paradela, CPMPC Chief Executive Officer Macario Quevedo, and other coop officials. Also in attendance were the proprietors and officers of DOST-assisted SMEs.
Displayed at the CPMPC oneSTore hub were food products produced by these companies such as the Chilen chicharon, Guadalupe dried mangoes of Camiluz Enterprises, Inc., nutritious assorted polvoron of Feb20 Enterprises, and processed food products of Southern Partners and Fair Trade Corporation (SPFTC).
Quevedo vigorously pursued the establishment of CPMPC as oneSTore hub to create more economic opportunities for its members many of whom are small farmers, vendors, and fisher folk.
By availing DOST services that will help improved their products and through oneSTore.ph, the first government-initiated e-commerce platform developed by DOST, coop members can boost profitability of their trades by widening their market base using the government’s online marketing tool.
To ensure efficient customer service, oneSTore sellers (hubs) are required to “respond to orders within 24 hours upon placement”.
Moreover, as part of the support services, good purchased online through oneSTore.ph is delivered to customers by a logistics company tapped by DOST to take care of this need.
