LGU Malabuyoc children and residents received enhanced nutribun and calamansi Juice.

The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office 7 together with the Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies (ARENA) – Central Visayas conducted a Feeding Activity last Saturday, September 3, 2022.

The Enhanced Nutribun is a food technology introduced by the DOST-Food and Nutrition Research Institute to overcome malnutrition problem among children. The E-Nutribun is an excellent source of natural fiber, energy, protein, iron, calcium, potassium, and zinc. It has zero trans-fatty acids, no cholesterol, and does not contain artificial coloring and flavoring to ensure its healthy quality. THE FNRI’s E-Nutribun currently has 3 variants; squash, carrot, and sweet potato. During the feeding program, the nutribun was partnered with a calamansi juice to boost the immune system of children especially during the pandemic.

The E-Nutribuns distributed in LGU Malabuyoc were produced by one of the e-nutribun adoptors of DOST-FNRI in Cebu which is Magic Melt Foods Inc.

The activity was spearheaded by the board members of the ARENA 7 including the DOST 7 Regional Director, Engr. Jesus F. Zamora Jr. along with Director Salustiano Jimenez of DepEd 7 and Director Gamaliel Vicente Jr. of TESDA 7.
